Name: David A. Enyart, D. Min.

Title: Professor of Pastoral Ministries

Year Started: 1979

 

Background: Dr. Enyart was born in Rochester, Indiana on Sept. 4, 1946. His family (three brothers and a sister) lived close to  Greentown, Indiana. Dr. Enyart is married to the former Mary Faith Hall of Bedford. They were married on May 28, 1966. They have two married daughters: Christy Neubert of Johnson City Tennessee and Crystal Reid of Knoxville. Christy is married to Rick, and emergency room physician and Crystal is married to David, a computer programmer. Dr. Enyart has five grandchildren, three girls and two boys.

Education:

    •  B.A. from Johnson Bible College, Knoxville, Tennessee; 1968
    •  M.A. from Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln, Illinois; 1970 (New Testament)
    •  M.Div. from Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln, Illinois; 1972 (New Testament)
    •  D.Min. from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, Indiana; 1979 (Preaching and Parish Ministries)

Ministry Experience: Dr. Enyart has ministered in the following churches:
    •  Latona Church of Christ, Newton, Illinois
    •  Walshville Christian Church, Litchfield, Illinois
    •  Fleming Garden Christian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana
    •  Jefferson City Christian Church, Jefferson City, Tennessee
    •  Preaches Summit at Tower Apartments in downtown Knoxville (since 1991).

Teaching Experience: Dr. Enyart has been Professor of Pastoral Ministries at Johnson Bible College since 1979. He teaches preaching, pastoral counseling, and hermeneutics. He also teaches in JBC’s grad program in Preaching and New Testament.

Academic Interests and Experience: He is a member of the Evangelical Homiletical Society (EHS). He has published the following works:
