Background: Ken grew up in rural North Carolina. He is the youngest of three sons. Although he was baptized in a denominational church, he began attending an independent Christian Church while in College.
Personal Information: He was born on April 26, 1954 in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He married his wife Libby in 1976. Libby is a graduate of King College in Bristol, Tennessee. They have two daughters: Amanda (born in 1979), and Meghann (born in 1983). Both daughters work in professions where they serve others; Amanda works with citizens who have disabilities and Meghann is in Nursing.
Education: Ken graduated from King College, in Bristol, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration. He has done a good amount of work in studying Leadership, Motivation and Coaching in his career.
Ministry Experience: Ken had served in two congregations for over 25 years. He has served as an Elder, Deacon, teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, mission member & chair, youth sponsor and on a variety of committees.
Coaching/Teaching Experience: Ken believes that coaching is something that everyone does and has taken a variety of coaching clinics and classes to become certified to teach coaching for youth coaches. He has taught a variety of classes in church and non-church areas to include: youth and adult Bible classes, personal time management, supervision, motivation, youth soccer coaching, and leadership skills. Ken has coached athletic teams from kindergarten age through college. He currently coaches the Men’s Soccer team at JBC (which won the Mid-East Region of the National Christian College Athletic Association for the first time in 2007).
Personal Interests: Reading, athletics and making new friends – people say and do the most interesting things! Attitude is everything. |
