Johnson Bible College invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the area of Theology/Philosophy to begin July 2008. As indicated in our purpose statement, “the college employs faculty of genuine loyalty to the word of God, unquestioned character and consecration, and high academic standing.” The position will involve teaching both lower division classes in theology, philosophy, and, possibly, Bible following the JBC curriculum. Candidates must be conservative in their theology and lifestyle; supportive of the College’s vision, core values, and mission; and able to sign the statement of faith without reservation (See the College’s web site jbc.edu for these documents). The ability to present an effective classroom experience for students is important. Applicants with the PhD are preferred, but others will be considered. Compensation is competitive. Housing on campus is provided.
Founded in 1893, Johnson Bible College is a four-year coeducational institution of higher learning offering associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The primary purpose of the college is to educate students for specialized Christian ministries with primary emphasis on the preaching ministry. A secondary purpose is to provide programs in Christian leadership and community service.
In addition to meeting the usual academic and professional requirements, all of our full-time faculty are members of Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. Most of our students and nearly all of our financial support also come from these congregations.
