This July marks the beginning of the second year of my presidency at Johnson Bible College. As I look back upon the past year, I wonder where the time has gone! It has been a joy to get better acquainted with the faculty, staff, and students.
Since I was already connected to the school as an alumnus and as a former faculty member, I had some knowledge of what was happening here. I have not had too many surprises. I expected to find faculty and staff who were committed to the mission of the institution. I expected to find facilities that are simply unsurpassed in any college our size. I expected to find alumni and friends of the school who were enthusiastic supporters of the school and protective of its historic mission. I expected to find a financial condition that had been managed with integrity and wise stewardship.
In each instance those expectations were met. The school is healthy and as strongly committed to the mission of “educating students for specialized Christian ministries with an emphasis on the preaching ministry.”
All this is possible because of strong and consistent leadership, a dedicated staff, loyal alumni, and especially because of the support of friends like you.
As I reflect on the events of the past year, one of my most vivid memories is signing hundreds of “thank you” letters and thanking God for every recipient. |
