Johnson Bible College offers the Bachelor of Science in Bible and Church Music and the Bachelor of Science in Bible, Music, and Worship Ministry.

The Bachelor of Science in Bible and Church Music is a four-year curriculum including 36 hours of Biblical and theological studies, 54 hours of professional (music) studies, and 40 hours of general studies. This program is designed for students who wish to pursue a full-time, professional career in worship leadership with a strong emphasis on music ministry. It is also designed for those students who wish to pursue graduate education in church music at institutions of similar purpose and focus as Johnson Bible College.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Science in Bible and Church music, students will be able to:

  1. Organize and administer choral, congregational, and/or instrumental programs in the local church.
  2. Fulfill the responsibilities of a minister of music/worship with a strong emphasis upon music ministry in the local church.
  3. Lead worship services utilizing a variety of approaches, including both traditional and contemporary styles.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the history and traditions of corporate worship in the church.
  5. Realize the importance of continued development of their professional skills by participating in conventions, conferences, seminars, and/or workshops relating to some aspect of music and/or worship ministry as well as continuing to develop their performing skills on their principal instrument.
  6. Find employment within one year after graduation if they so choose. Seventy-five percent will be pursuing music and/or worship ministry five years after graduation.

The Bachelor of Science in Bible, Music, and Worship Ministry is a four-year curriculum including 36 hours of Biblical and theological studies, 52 hours of professional (music/worship) studies, and 43 hours of general studies. This program is designed for students who wish to pursue a full-time professional career in worship leadership with an emphasis upon all of the creative arts (drama, media production, music, and visual arts). It is also designed for those students who wish to pursue graduate education in worship studies at institutions of similar purpose and focus as Johnson Bible College.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Science in Bible, Music, and Worship Ministry, students will be able to:

  1. Nurture, direct, and competently lead musical ensembles and arts teams of all types currently found in the worship ministry of the local church.
  2. Creatively plan for and lead the corporate worship of the local church utilizing a variety of traditions and styles.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the history and traditions of corporate worship in the church.
  4. Recognize, respond to, and embrace the best elements of current developments in the worshiping church.
  5. Realize the importance of continued development of their professional skills by participating in conventions, conferences, seminars, and/or workshops relating to some aspect of worship ministry.
  6. Find employment within one year after graduation if they so choose. Seventy-five percent will be pursuing worship ministry five years after graduation.
