Have you always wanted to be a teacher? Do you have a desire to influence the lives of students in a public or Christian school setting? Perhaps the double major undergraduate program in Teacher Education is the field of study for you.

Our Teacher Education program is a five-year program in which you will receive a bachelor's degree in Bible and Interdisciplinary Studies and a master's degree in Holistic Education. This program prepares Early Childhood K-3, Elementary K-6 and Middle School 4-8 teachers for licensure to teach in a public or Christian school setting. Dual licensure (K-12) is also available in English as a Second Language (ESL).

Our Teacher Education facilities are technologically advanced. Upon graduating from this program, you will be well-equipped with knowledge and experience in educational technology.

From your very first semester, you will have contact with children in area elementary and middle schools.

1. B.S. in Bible and Interdisciplinary Studies with M.A. in Holistic Education
    
1. Licensure in Early Childhood (grades Pre/K-3)

This program includes all of the material required for the Early Childhood licensure in the State of Tennessee for Preschool through grade 3.  It is designed to prepare students to teach in and direct early Childhood programs.

2. Licensure in Elementary (grades K-6)

This program includes all of the material required for the Elementary licensure in the State of Tennessee for grades K-6.  It is designed to prepare students to teach in elementary school classrooms.  Students may wish to add to this program, the required courses (7 hours) for the condition of employment for gifted education.

3. Licensure in Middle School: History or Literature major (grades 4-8)

This program includes all of the material required for the Middle School licensure in the State of Tennessee for grades 4-8.  It is designed to prepare students to teach in Middle School classrooms.  Students may wish to add to this program, the required courses (7 hours) for the condition of employment for gifted education.

4. Licensure in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Elementary Education (K-6)

   This program includes all the material required for Elementary (K-6) and the requirements for ESL licensure in the State of Tennessee.  The student who successfully completes this program is qualified to teach in an elementary classroom with ESL students or in an ESL pull-out program.

2. B.S. in Bible and Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on English as a Second Language (ESL) or Kindergarten with one semester of student teaching.
    
1. B.S. in Bible and English as a Second Language (K-12)

This program includes all the requirements for ESL licensure in the State of Tennessee in grades K-12.  It prepares the student to teach in pull-out type programs or ESL only classrooms.  This degree has a special emphasis on cross-cultural teaching that prepares students to teach worldwide, including restricted access countries.

2. B.S. in Bible and Preschool - Kindergarten

This program meets all the requirements for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten licensure in the State of Tennessee.  It prepares students to teach in Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms
