If cross-cultural evangelism is your passion, a degree in teaching
English to speakers of other languages could be your ticket into
a closed country.
It is very difficult, if not impossible to go into some foreign
countries as a missionary. One way to get in is as an english teacher,
since english teachers are in demand all over the world. A degree
in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages will prepare you
to do just that. It can also equip you to enter the missions field
in open countries and minister to God's people in a cross-cultural
setting.
This is a four-year program and results in a bachelor's
degree in Bible with an emphasis on T.E.S.O.L.
For more information on the T.E.S.O.L. program, go to the JBC Undergraduate Catalog (PDF) or look at the Program Guide Sheet (web or printable PDF).
If you are interested in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in an elementary school setting, see the teacher education program.
