Minority Teaching Fellows Program

  • Entering freshman; 2.75 or better High School GPA; Top 25% of class or at least an 18 ACT or 850 SAT score; agree to teach at a K-12 public Tennessee school 1 year for each year awarded
  • Continuing college student with a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA
  • Up to $5,000 per academic year with a maximum of $25,000 awarded
  • Full-time student
  • Minority student
  • U.S. citizen
  • Pursue teaching certification
  • Deadline: April 15

Robert C. Byrd Honor Scholarship Program
  • Entering freshman who graduated with a 3.5 better GPA, (or 57 GED) or a 3.0 or better GPA and at least a 24 ACT or 1090 SAT score, within one year of the award
  • Estimated $1,500 renewable for a total of 4 years
  • Full-time student
  • Deadline: March 1

Ned McWherter's Scholarship
  • Entering freshman with at least a 3.5 GPA a 29 ACT or 1280 SAT or better, score in the top 5% nationally
  • Up to $6,000 annually for a maximum of 4 years, renewable
  • Entering an eligible Tennessee institution
  • Full-time student
  • Deadline: February 15

Teaching Scholars Program
  • College Juniors, Seniors, and Post-Bachelor students seeking a teaching licensure with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better
  • Must be admitted in Education program of school attending
  • At least a part-time student
  • Additional requirements contact Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation
  • Deadline: April 15

Tennessee Student Assistance Award
  • Non-repayable grant for undergraduate students
  • A maximum of $2,514 per year currently at an eligible Tennessee post-secondary institution
  • Need based
  • Tennessee resident as defined by TSAC
  • Apply by The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
