Jim Shockney ('62) passed away on September 15, 2007 in Reno, Nevada.
Jean Ann (Presley '77) Singh passed away on July 13, 2007, in Inverness, Florida, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Joe, eight children, eight grandchildren, her parents Charles ('59) and Ruth Presley of Inverness, and her sister Tammy (Presley '93) Jeter of Knoxville.
O. Paul Walker ('53) died on April 13.
He was living in Monroeville, Alabama, and
is survived by his wife, Ann.
Clinton B. Thomas ('55) died on September 28 in Knoxville. Clint and his wife, Phyllis (Potter, '56,'99) Thomas faithfully served from 1956 -1996 in the Amazon, where Clint was known as the Father of the Town of Urucara. He looked after the sick and comforted the dying. He was known for his many abilities as the man who could repair anything. Urucara declared 3 days of public mourning when they learned of his death. Surviving are sons Tim Thomas ('80), Ted Thomas, and Tom Thomas.
Robert W. Shaw ('40), Pastor Emeritus of Central Christian Church of Dade in Coral Gables, Florida, died March 25, 2007. Survived by wife of 57 years, Virgie Lee; daughters, Sharyllynn Shaw and Suzanne Storck; and son, Robert W. Shaw, Jr. He held preaching ministries in Maryland and Florida in addition to being heavily active both regionally and internationally in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He received a Special Citation for "lifetime distinguished service," at the 1996 World Convention of Christian Churches.
Isaac Martin Rudolph ('55) went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. He pastored Christian Churches in Tennessee and Kentucky for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Margery (Seeley, '55) Rudolph; daughter, Shirley Wright; and son, Howard Rudolph ('78).
Janet S. Proctor ('47) passed away on June 15, 2007. She was a graduate of Johnson Bible College where she was employed until her retirement. After retiring, she remained involved with the college as a volunteer until her passing. She is survived by her husband, Mayo Proctor ('47); sons Larry Proctor, Robert Proctor, & Ron Proctor ('82), and daughters Linda Proctor ('75), and Joyce (Proctor, '79) Callaway.
Roger H. Linthicum ('65) died on June 6, 2007.
C. Wayne Hensley ('73) passed away in the arms of his wife, Carol Moeller Hensley, on May 6, 2007.
James W. Daniel ('71) passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007. A retired minister, Mr. Daniel held ministerial positions at Alamo Christian Church in Alamo, Indiana for 15 years and at the 5th St. Church of Christ in Covington, Indiana for six years.

Bradford C. Burnette Jr. ('53) went home Saturday, November 25, 2006.
He was a WW II veteran who worked tirelessly his entire life in the Christian church ministry and Christian education. He was instrumental in starting numerous churches in the Memphis midsouth area and served as president and professor of Memphis Christian College. He also served as president and professor of Bluefield College of Evangelism and as a professor at Johnson Bible College.
Don L. Poorman ('49) passed away December 26, 2006.
Joe Anne Olges ('62) passed away March 1, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Olges ('63); sons, Timothy Alan Olges, David Alan Olges and wife Shari, Todd Alan Olges and wife Jenni; 5 grandchildren.
Joseph Ralph Mynatt, son-in-law of former JBC President Alva Ross Brown and husband of Emma Elizabeth Brown Mynatt, died 26 February 2007 of cancer. The family requests that donations be made to Johnson Bible College, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998.
Donald Edward Kyle ('89) died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007. He formerly ministered at Centerville Christian Church in Centerville, Indiana, where he lived most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Nina J. Kyle ('91).
Walter C. Hahlen (Former Employee) , of Uniontown, Ohio died Friday, February 16, 2007. He retired from Universal Cooperative after 40 years of service and also as manager of the Johnson Bible College Book store after 17 years of service. He served as an Elder for the New Alexander Christian Church, Minerva First Christian church and Gap Creek Christian Church of Knoxville, TN. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Evelyn (Lutz) Hahlen whom he married June 22, 1946; two sons, Charles Hahlen ('76) of Uniontown and Mark Hahlen ('82) of Dallas, Texas. Rufus Gerkin ('50), of Seymour,Tennessee, passed from this life on Monday, March 26, 2007. Born in Mitchell, Indiana, he ministered to churches in Illinois and Indiana from 1938 to 1997. He also served as President of College of the Scriptures in Louisville, Kentucky and was instrumental in establishing Illiana Christian Service Camp in Washington, Indiana. He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Ethel; his alumni daughter, Donna Sue ('67) and her husband Robert Berry ('65); his alumni son, Don Gerkin ('76), wife Bonnie and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. J. Wayne Markward ('57), of Franklin,Indiana, died on Jan. 5, 2007.
William Paul Duckett died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, KY. He was a retired minister, retired from the US Postal Service and a World Book Representative. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby (Prince, '63) Duckett of the home; sons, William P. Duckett, Jr.; James A. Duckett, David T. Duckett and daughter, Carlotta Stone ('66). Gerald "Jerry" McCune ('85) died of cancer on December 5, 2006, in his home. Alumni relatives include his wife, Anita ('91). and their children, Tammy ('88) and Mark ('92).
William Charles Ackerman, Jr. ('73) passed away on April 28, 2006, in his home in Barnwell, South Carolina. He was the minister of the First Christian Church of Harleyville, South Carolina, and had also ministered at churches in Selmer, Tennessee and Barnwell. He leaves his widow, Betty Lou, who has moved to the Memphis area.

Dr. Bradford C. "Brad" Burnette Jr. ('53) passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, in Swannanoa, North Carolina. In addition to being a JBC alumnus and professor, Dr. Burnette served as president of both Mid-South Christian College and Bluefield School of Evangelism. Remaining family members include his wife Helen, daughter Christina Loyd, and daughter and son-in-law Angie (’81) and Don Gibson.

Marvin H. Matthews ('40) passed away while listening to his grandson read the 23rd Psalm on September 21, 2006. Marvin was the founder of the Christian Benevolent Association, member of the Shriners, former Minister of First Church of Christ of Perryville, KY, Central Christian Church in Ironton Ohio, Chase Ave. Church of Christ "LifeSpring Christian Church'' in Cincinnati, founder and administrator of Mt. Healthy Christian Home and founding member of the Board of Trustees for Mason Christian Village.
Marion Viola Jarman ('40) joined her husband, Ali B. Jarmon ('73), in the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Mr. and Ms. Jarman were involved with the Christian Church as ministers and missionaries for many years.
Louise T. (Bradshaw, '62) Ulmer passed away on September 28, 2006. Louise's world revolved around children. She published over 20 books for children and young teens, in addition to dozens of short stories, articles, poems and magazine quizzes during her writing career. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Charles Ulmer ('62).
Kenneth E. Adcock ('51) died on September 16, 2006. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Vanderbilt University in 1979 and served in the United States Army from 1961-1974 where he retired with the rank of Colonel. He is survived by his wife Nancy Pemberton Adcock, and their children Joe, Jake, and Jane.
Roy S. Yeatts ('79) died on July 17, 2006. He was a trustee of Johnson Bible College from 1988-1992.
Donald E. Williams ('45) passed away on May 31, 2006. He served as an Army Chaplain for 20 years.
R. D. Ray ('52) passed away on April 29, 2006.
Joseph L. Roberson ('46) died on February 23, 2006.
W. Glenn Shoemaker ('45) died on February 3, 2006 while preparing a sermon. Up to the minute that he was called home, Glenn was focused on serving our Savior.
W. Kenneth Pitman ('37) died on December 28, 2005.
Bob Lloyd Badgett ('51) passed away on Monday, September 11 in Florida. He ministered to churches in Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, and Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; daughters, Judith (Badgett, '84) Baker & Linda Justavino, and son, Thomas.
Leslie Wolfe (‘41) died on March 31 in Ja Jolla, California. He is survived by his wife, Carol.
John W. Jones Sr. (‘49) died on June 26 in Roanoke, Virginia. John had ministries in East Tennessee, El Centro, California, and held evangelistic meetings all over the United States. His wife Mary preceded him in death in 2003. John is survived by his daughter Penny Fulton (‘75) of Roanoke and sons John (‘79) and Dennis of California.
Roy Ball Jr. (’72) passed away on August 6 at the VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Roy had served churches in North Carolina; Maryville, Tennessee; and Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, and children Debra Ann Thompson, James Ball, and Carmela Pyle. Roy had requested that donations be made to New Hope Christian Church, Miami, Oklahoma, where he most recently ministered, or to Johnson Bible College.
Donald Williams ('45) died on May 31, 2006 in Temple, Texas. A former chaplin with the United States Army, Williams is survived by his wife, Mary, and four children, Donald Williams, John Bradford, Nancy Williams, and Jennifer Carson. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson Bible College.
Howard Ray ('51) died suddenly March 14, 2006 after suffering a massive brain hemorage. He is survived by his wife, Gwen ('52), and their three children David Ray ('74), Becky Ramirez-Ray ('76), and Sharlotte Ray ('77). In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Fern Creek Christian Church or Johnson Bible College.
Joseph L. Roberson ('46) passed away on February 23, 2006.
Barbara Ellis ('05), a JBC graduate student on the counseling program, passed away on December 31, 2005 after suffering a major heart attack. She is survived by her husband, Steve, who is continuing his undergratuate work at the College.
Jean Morgan died December 11, 2005 in Zionsville,
Indiana. She was the food services manager at JBC for 27 years, until her retirement in 1987. She is survived by her husband, Russell, and four daughters who all graduated from JBC: Janis
Weedman (’63), Carol Fields (’64), Judy Mentzer
(’67), and Kay Moll (’68). Memorial gifts may be made to the Russell and Jean Morgan Scholarship Fund at Johnson Bible College.
Jack Harrison (’69) died January 11, 2005 in
Indianapolis, Indiana. Jack was a minister, speech
pathologist, professional speaker trainer, and worked at R. R. Donnelley as a cameraman. He is survived by his wife, Pat (’69). His two daughters
Lynn Darnieder and Gail Rhodes attended JBC. Donations may be made to the Johnson Bible College Scholarship Fund in his memory.
Ruby Miles (’44) died December 15, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Monroe Miles
(’43).
Brian Wright, son of Allan (’81) and Shirley
(’82) Wright, was killed by a land mine in Iraq on
December 6, 2005.
Walter L. Bingham (‘45) died October 5, 2005.
He served his country during World War II in the
Marines. His ministries were at Wellsburg (West
Virginia) Christian Church, Mount Healthy Christian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, and First Christian Church in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Ralph “Buddy” Burnette (‘50) of
Gahanna, Ohio, died September 9, 2005. He retired
after 50 years in ministry. He taught in church
camps and conferences and recently served
interim pastorates. He also retired from the
business and industry division at Columbus State
Community College in 1997. He is survived by
his wife, Mary.
Eunice Busch (‘41) died November 21, 2005 at
her home in Johnson City, Tennessee. She was a
school teacher and a founder and director of
preschools for 35 years at Mar Vista (California)
Christian Church and West Seattle (Washington)
Christian Church. Eunice was a Sunday school
teacher all her adult life. She is survived by her
husband, J. Wycliffe Busch.
Stanley John Lintner (‘75) of Anderson,
Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on June
21, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Marianne.

Bill McMahan (‘74) died October 1, 2005 at the
Indiana University Medical Center in
Indianapolis. He was on the staff of First
Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana, for
three years. Then he taught math and coached at
Columbus East High School for 25 years. After he
retired from public school in 1999, he taught at
Trader’s Point Christian Academy until 2004. He
is survived by his wife, Carolyn.
William F. Tucker (‘41) died September 17, 2005
at his home in Huntington Township,
Pennsylvania. While a student at JBC, Bill wrote
the College’s alma mater. He had ministries in
Pennsylvania in Big Run, Flemington, Mill Hall,
Berwick, Bloomsburg, and Kingston. He was one
of the founders of the Eastern Pennsylvania
Christian Service Camp in Stillwater. Bill is
survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice.

Gladys Smith, widow of alumnus JB Smith ('38), passed away on October 6, 2005 at Southwest Christian Care Center in Union City, GA. JB and Gladys were known for their wonderful song leading.
Brian Bishop ('97) of Indianapolis died unexpectedly on Friday, July 1, 2005. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church and an U.S. Army veteran.
Dr Thomas W Toler (‘38) died unexpectedly on June 28, 2005 at his home in Bakersfield, California. He served Christian churches in Missouri and California and was active regionally and nationally with the Disciples of Christ.
Norman Maddux (‘64) died April 13, 2005. He is survived by wife, Patty (‘65).
Virginia Chestnut Hanze (‘66) of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, died April 7, 2005 of liver cancer. She is survived by husband, Richard Hanze (‘66).
George Mudd (‘77) died March 19, 2005 at his home in Havana, Florida. After graduating from JBC, George ministered to churches in Kentucky and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Wanda.
