Periodicals

"Most day's I can be found repairing a book in the bindery, or helping a student in the microfiche room, or working with someone researching our indexes of Periodicals. Being responsible for our more than 400 publications is a great way to keep current of the latest in ideas, actions and the news.
Because I love to read, It seems libraries have always been an important part in my life. In High School and as a student here at JBC in the 60's, I was a work study student in the library. Although my degree was in Music, my library card was always kept current wherever we lived. Previously, I did some volunteer work in a school library and I realized just how much I loved library work. I then did 36 hours of library classes at the University of Mississippi and worked as a Children's librarian from 1990 - 1996.

My husband, Vernon, and I served a church near Manchester, England. It was fun to do some work with a small Christian college's library and to help set up a Resources Library in our community in England. Now that we're back and near our four grandchildren, It's great fun to read to Alex, Stephanie, John and Gracie."
